PPI  Lower Intercooler Pipe

The wait for the PPI Evo X lower i/c pipe is over!  We have spent a lot of time in developing a properly designed lower i/c pipe. The stock piece is very restrictive due to its overall length and because of all the extra bends it uses. Our pipe is constructed from 6061 aluminum. All bends are smooth and fully mandrel bent which means the least restriction possible. Fitment is excellent and this is a very easy to install piece. We use a transition from 2.5" to 2.75" at intercooler side.  The stock piece makes the transition at the t/body and from a flow standpoint it is ideal to make this transition earlier and well before the t/body for best flow and least resistance.  The net result is actually a 2.75" LICP!  We outflow the competition!  Our pipe comes with a silicone coupler for the t/body to i/c pipe connection along with the necessary t-bolt clamps. You can  use the stock coupler on the intercooler side. 

What makes the PPI lower i/c pipe different
 
  • Our pipe is 100% percent aluminum weighing in under 2 pounds with a sturdy bracket.  Typical steel pipes can weigh over 4 pounds!  Why add weight to your car?
  • Aluminum will disperse the heat quicker than steel will. The last thing intercooler piping should do is to retain heat (steel will do this). The idea is to cool your charge air as quickly as possible!
  • Many companies use a silicone coupler from the t/body to their pipe to make a large transition in pipe diameter. They use a coupler from the pipe outlet diameter of 2.5" to their t/body of 2.75". This transition takes place in a mere .25" to .5" in their coupler. This is the easy/cheap way out. Airflow turbulence is introduced anytime it is forced to bend in sharp angles like this.  Proper airflow requires bends of 10 degrees or less. This is accomplished with our pipe due to the fact that we have taken the extra time to ensure it is built and designed the right way.  We use an aluminum cone (that we manufacture) in our pipe that has a smooth transition from 2.5" to 2.75" diameter.  This transition is placed right after the intercooler outlet!
  • Our pipe is also made as a 1 piece design for convenience and hassle free installation.
  • We also put high-quality machine rolled beads onto our pipe to make sure a good air tight connection is made.
  • We also supply a high grade silicone coupler to connect to your turbo along with 2 t-bolt clamps.

Gains of 21/whp and 26ft/lbs torque with Upper IC, Lower IC, and Road Race IC. Boost and AFR were unchanged from previous tune and spool is 200RPM quicker than the stock setup!
